Raising his right hand and pointing at a columnar rock, he appears to lift it into the air with his supernatural powers. An opulently dressed layman sits on another stool with hands clasped as two demonic figures panic and rush to escape. In this quite animated scene, the figures’ faces are also very expressive, with not only lines used to delineate the forms, but also color washes. In addition, the clothing patterns are delicate, helping to make this an excellent depiction. Since only one lohan is shown in this work, it may have originally been part of a set of 16 or 18 lohan paintings.(20120408)
