She was also versatile at poetry, calligraphy, and painting.This painting was completed in 1379 and signed, "Rendered by the lady Ts'ao Miao-ch'ing." Depicted here is a branch of flowers extending into the composition from the right. Flowers and leaves are luxuriant and depicted in a variety of positions for an elegant scene. The forms were outlined first in ink and then filled with colors. The coloring is refined with an almost feminine quality. This is from Album of Round Fan Paintings.
